Scripture: John 20:19-31

In this joyful and thoughtful message based on John 20:19–31, we explore how the resurrection is more than something we receive—it is something we are sent to live and share. Beginning in a room full of fear and locked doors, Jesus meets the disciples with peace, breathes new life into them, and sends them out on a mission shaped by love, forgiveness, and grace. Drawing on the idea that life is often “the setup,” the sermon invites us to see the resurrection as the beginning of God’s punchline—where hope breaks through fear, doubt leads to deeper faith, and ordinary people become bearers of extraordinary good news. As followers of Christ, we are called to carry this life-giving, joy-filled resurrection into the world—becoming the punchline of grace, love, and transformation in the lives of others.
