Ash Wednesday Worship marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a sacred time of reflection, repentance, and renewal. Through prayer, scripture, and the imposition of ashes, our congregation gathered to remember our need for God’s grace and the hope we have in Christ.

The week prior, we gathered in the courtyard to burn the palm branches from the previous Palm Sunday, to be used for the imposition of ashes. This was a very meaningful moment in preparation.

Coincidentally, all three of our pastors became very ill before Lent. and were unable to be part of Ash Wednesday. Reverend Phil Vestal, an associate pastor from Oakhurst UMC, was able to come and help lead the service. This is the beauty of our connectional system in the United Methodist Church. Thanks be to God.
