Special Guests Visit United Women In Faith

Today we welcomed Shirley Erwin and Charlene Daniels to our monthly meeting of United Women in Faith. Shirley serves as the Gulf Central District President, and Shari is the Gulf Central Nominations Chair. We had a wonderful time hearing from them and learning more about the many ways we can stay connected and continue growing in mission through our chapter here at First UMC Gulfport.

Did you know that United Women in Faith began in 1869? At that time, it was called the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society. In 1973, the organization became United Methodist Women, and today we know it as United Women in Faith.

While the names have changed over the years, the heart of the mission has remained the same: supporting mission, mercy, and justice in our communities and around the world.

We are grateful for the ways this faithful group continues to live out that calling right here at First UMC Gulfport.
